MERIA'S Editorial Board

The Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA) represents a new approach to the study of the modern Middle East. MERIA reaches over 25,000 readers in more than 100 countries, serving a high-level audience of Middle East experts, scholars, teachers, students, officials, journalists, and people intensely interested in the region.

MERIA is a non-profit publication and welcomes contributions and grants. Support us.

We have also published several books in print drawing on MERIA articles and authors. The first of these books is Turkey in World Politics: An Emerging Multi-Regional Power edited by Barry Rubin and Kemal Kirisci (Lynne Rienner: 2001.) Another is Contemporary Islamist Movements in the Middle East edited by Barry Rubin (State University of New York, SUNY Press, 2003.) Forthcoming books include Iraq After Saddam (M.E. Sharpe, forthcoming) and the Global Survey of Islamism (M.E. Sharpe, forthcoming).

MERIA is a project owned and edited by Prof. Barry Rubin. It is produced in conjunction with the Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) Center. Our goal is to advance research on the Middle East and to foster scholarly communication and cooperation. We are a non-partisan publication involving people across the geographical and political spectrum.

All MERIA materials are distributed at no charge. MERIA News and MERIA Journal are archived permanently on our homepage.

MERIA is indexed in several places, including:

• HW Wilson's Social Sciences Index

MERIA includes the following elements:

• MERIA Journal, a quarterly academic journal on Middle East issues, publishing scholarly articles of 3,000 to 8,000 words. All materials are refereed according to academic standards. We will reprint articles of interest with permission.
• MERIA News, a quarterly magazine on Middle East studies including shorter analytical pieces (1,000-3,000 words), reviews and announcements of conferences, websites and publications, as well as readers' research queries.
• MERIA seminars are high-level, closed discussion lists for experts wishing to hold intensive exchanges on specific topics.
• MERIABooks are collections of articles from MERIA Journal, MERIA News, and other materials submitted by readers and accepted by the editor. They are available to readers at no charge. Authors are encouraged to update their contributions if they wish. Among the titles published are: Middle East Economics, Persian Gulf Security Issues, Israeli Politics and Foreign Policy, Turkish Politics and Foreign Policy, Radical Movements in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Essays on the Contemporary Middle East.
• We publish Current Contents of Periodicals on the Middle East, produced by the Moshe Dayan Center six times a year, which provides a detailed list of articles on the region in all major journals and academic periodicals.

In order to provide more options and better service, we offer both current and past journal issues in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) (ideal for printing) and regular HTML formats (easier for reading on a computer screen).

We would also be happy to receive e-mail addresses for others who might be interested in receiving MERIA at no cost.
